The first is by Eben Bayer, co-founder of an enterprise called Evocative. The talk, a TED, is called "Are mushrooms the next plastic?". Once you have pondered the enormity of possibilities you will never look at even a button mushroom the same way. Eben, by the way, is from Randolph, Vt. What got him started was noticing this white, very hard fungi clumping on the chopped wood he was trying to load into the maple syrup boiler. It got him wondering....

The next talk is by Paul Stamets who really is one with the fungi.... even his hat. (Following talk) While Bayer focusses on one miraculous use, Stamets covers them all: from catching farm run off (reducing ecoli) to tuberculous care to sequestering CO2 and more, he has it all.
