i sure hope that folks like these can make the masses realize that (TINA) "there is no alternative"...... other than civil disobedience is the only answer to the questions we have today of how did we get here, and how do we get out?
As that brilliant site-member, ARIZanon, has already stated on Live Chat - and I'll quote: "American culture is plastic and adaptive. We'll figure out what to do in good time. I trust my country's culture and the good sense of "my fellow Americans".
That said, I've always been suspicious that there's a correlation between our country's "downturn" - the repeated attempt at gutting our Social Safety Net and other stuff - and the dramatic rise in the number of "non-white" citizens. It's almost as if "the powers that be" - the people who really own this country - the people with the real political power - have all decided that if this country will no longer be majority white, then it isn't worth caring about. After all, we all live in a "global economy" now - money no longer needs to be concentrated within the (artificial) boundaries of a place called 'the United States' - and the really wealthy beneficiaries of this new economy are citizens of the world and have no allegiance to any archaic concepts of national loyalty - or any sense of economic patriotism.
I might be all wet about this, but I suspect that, at least, some of this suspicion is right on target. Essentially, for me, it all boils down to racism. It's as if the power-wielders have thrown up their hands and walked away from our American ideals.
I still believe in my country and culture. I still believe that, somehow, we'll figure it all out together and make the correct choices about our collective future.
