Something amazing occurred last night in Texas, of all places: the sneaky legislative techniques by the state's GOP went down in flames. The state Republicans had been maneuvering for weeks to attempt to pass a tough anti-abortion bill as part of their continuing war on women. That many people dismiss this war on women as a side issue, a distraction, simply amazes me. It is wonderful to be concerned about homeless and starving children, but almost all of them are accompanied by homeless and even more starving women who sacrifice what they have for their children.
For those of you who still can't get past this story as just a side story, at least look at the process here and how the GOP lost. A wonderful lesson in activism... and learn it from the girls.
Not a story that requires deep insights for now, it is a huge victory to be savored. In that case, the HuffPost will certainly do. Needless to, pix and video through out.
