A little known historical note: the characters in Victor Hugo's epic "Les Miserables" are loosely based on real life characters or composites of them. The "Master of the House" here was a portrait of a thieving hotelier in early 19thC France. His offspring went on to found the Hyatt Hotel network and thus, a modern day descendent is about to work in the White House, topping Obama's rags to riches rise. Hats off to Penny Pritzker.
